The Avoidances of the Enneagram

Each Enneagram style avoids a particular thing that they unconsciously believe will undermine their self-image. This unconscious self-belief often results in behaviour opposite of fear; for example, avoidance of criticism for Enneagram 1 might result in a personal drive for perfection. However, that person might be perceived as highly critical of others (and themselves, which is often not seen).
